“I am vengeance! I am the night! I AM BATMAN!” Kevin Conroy immortalized that line during his run on Bruce Timm and Paul Dini’s Batman: The Animated Series, and never has it been more true than now! After all, what’s more like “the night” than being rendered in black and white in a beautiful limited edition bust? Diamond Select does it again with the debut of their DC Animated series of busts, statues, and other collectibles with the SDCC Exclusive Batman: The Animated Series Batman bust. A limited edition of 1100 pieces (each individually numbered on the bottom of the base, the box, the seal, and of course, the certificate of authenticity), each bust stands at approximately 6 inches tall, and features an art-deco base inspired by the show’s animation style.

Diamond Select never fails to produce a quality product, and I’m proud to say that this line of busts is no exception! Sculpted by Steve Varner Studios, the bust is a perfect representation of the classic Batman that so many of us grew up with– from his cowl to his utility belt, there’s not a thread out of place. For those of you who collect Diamond products overall, the Batman: The Animated Series Batman bust is a bit bigger than the Batman Classic TV Series Busts, mainly due to the character’s larger-than-life animated proportions, and his billowing cape that extends below his waist and out over the base. This animated Batman black and white bust is a great addition to any collection, and looks charming beside his con-exclusive counterparts Catwoman and Harley Quinn! (Never fear, though, collectors– if you couldn’t make it to SDCC or NYCC and can’t find these, it won’t be long before the full color versions are available at your local comic shop!)
