East Coast Comicon 2017 Wows!

eastCoastOnce again, East Coast Comicon has knocked it out of the park. the convention, which was held at Secaucus NJ’s Meadowlands Expo Center over the weekend, wowed with a wide array of exhibitors and guests for fans of all ages and varieties to enjoy!

For those who love to meet the people behind their favorite comics and graphic novels, East Coast Comicon showcased guests like Watchmen and Killing Joke colorist John Higgins, Marvel Comics’ Larry Lieber, and Deadpool creator Fabian Nicieza. Of course, as a fan of Batman and his allies, I was incredibly excited for legendary Batman writer Denny O’Neil (perhaps best known for revitalizing Batman in the 1970s and creating characters like Ra’s Al Ghul, Azrael, Leslie Thompkins, and the Question), and New Teen Titans writer Marv Wolfman (who also created characters like Nightwing, Deathstroke, Tim Drake, Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire, and Cyborg!)

For collectors, East Coast Comicon is always an excellent place to seek out that one hard-to-find issue or hardcover you’ve been after, or bolster your collection of action figures, POP figures, or cosplay pieces. This year, the convention was home to over 150 exhibitors, many of which offered awesome deals to con-goers.

Finally, for the people interested in interacting with silver screen icons (both human and automobile), Hollywood found its way to East Coast Comicon too! From screen-accurate vehicles including Batmobiles from the 1966 series, the Keaton-era films, and the Dark Knight Trilogy, to TV and film stars like Danny Trejo (Machete, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy), Dawn Wells (Gilligan’s Island), and Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters), there were plenty of opportunities for a brush with stardom.

If you missed East Coast Comicon this year, don’t worry– it will surely be back next spring, undoubtedly with another excellent roster of guests and activities!
