We’ve got a whole new set of still images from the Gotham pilot, and by the look of them, tensions are set to mount in the Dark Knight’s home turf when the prequel series airs this fall. Check out the images below, along with some insights from yours truly.

Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon in Crime Alley. This one should be familiar in particular to anyone who caught Gotham‘s trailer last week: it’s the scene where Gordon promises little Bruce that he’ll bring the man who shot the Waynes to justice.

Gordon and Harvey Bullock in a cemetery. Based on the people milling about in the background, I’d venture that Gordon and Bullock aren’t in the cemetery for case-related reasons. Could this be the funeral for Thomas and Martha Wayne? Also, am I seeing things oddly or is that some sort of cast or bandage on Gordon’s left hand?

Fish Mooney in what I’d assume is her office/lair. I’m curious what role the chess board will play in the series– is it going to be important overall or is it just a throwaway visual to imply that Mooney is cunning and plans ahead?

Another scene from the trailer. Gordon confronts Oswald Cobblepot.

Bullock in some sort of slaughterhouse or butcher’s freezer. Either way, it’s bad news. I’m betting this’ll be a big showdown at the end of the pilot.
