We’ve already discussed the fact that Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 will in fact be coming up soon, but what we didn’t know then is just how soon we’d be getting an official announcement! To find out what many are speculating will be the date we first hear of Injustice 2, look no further than the Twitter account of NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon, where a series of tweets have been driving fans nuts. It began on May 4, when Boon tweeted the following with no context:

Square root of 841.

For those of you who aren’t so mathematically inclined, the square root of 841 is 29. Certainly not much on its own, but when combined with his next numerical tweet, a pattern becomes clear:

Question: How many days in (non-leap-year) February?

The answer to this one is– of course– 28, which means Boon is counting down to something. Specifically, he’s counting down to June 2, just about a week before E3.  Could this be when we get our official announcement about the Injustice sequel? I certainly hope so (although it’s equally as likely that NetherRealm will be announcing Mortal Kombat 10.) We’ll just have to wait and see… and keep up with Ed Boon’s twitter, apparently!
